here's some
information on singapore that we hope you will find useful
- accommodation
by any
standard, singapore is a really tiny place and as the asian
civilisations museum is located in the centre of town, there is no shortage
of hotels in the vicinity.
these
include:

иии
it's a good
idea to compare the hotels' list prices with the rates on the many hotel
websites on the net. www.wotif.com, www.trailfinders.com,
and www.asiahotels.com are some good sites to try
- getting
around
one of the
easiest (and cheapest) ways to get around is by using the mrt or mass rapid transit system.
it works just like the tube or subway and tickets
can be purchased on a per-trip basis though there will very probably be bulk
travel tickets that can be purchased too.
if you're
heading for some high street shopping, you'll be watching out for the orchard,
somerset, dhoby ghaut and city hall stops (all along the north-south
line).
if you're
keen to explore a little further afield, alight at little india or chinatown
stops and take a walking tour to explore some of singapore's heritage.

the stop closest to the asian
civilisations museum is raffles place

alternatively,
there's always the taxi, with fares cheaper than in most major cities |

- the
weather
august (and
most other times of the year) in singapore is sweltering with daytime
temperatures ranging from 30 to 34 degrees celsius. with
humidity levels hovering about the 90% level, rain is a factor to bear in mind
when stepping out.
about the
only time you'll ever need that cardie/ sweater/ other warm woolly clothing,
might be when you go shopping cos indoors, the air-conditioning is usually
full blast!
so pack t-shirts, shorts, swimsuits and most importantly, sunnies and
sunblock!
